Capital One miles now transfer to Copa Airlines ConnectMiles, and a 30% launch bonus through December 1, 2026 turns 1,000 Capital One miles into 975 ConnectMiles. The normal rate is 2:1.5, or 1,000 miles to 750, so even the bonus leaves you short of the 1:1 rate Citi and Rove already pay. Capital One added Copa on November 2, per Frequent Miler.
The deal
- Offer: a 30% bonus on transfers from Capital One miles to Copa ConnectMiles, so 1,000 miles become 975 ConnectMiles instead of 750.
- Dates: November 2, 2026 through December 1, 2026 at 11:59 p.m. ET.
- Normal rate: 2:1.5 once the bonus ends, the same rate Capital One uses for Emirates, EVA Air and Japan Airlines.
- Who’s eligible: holders of a miles-earning card such as the Venture X or the Venture, which both earn 2X miles on everyday purchases.
- Direct link: the Copa tile in Capital One’s rewards area, behind your login. Capital One’s public partner page shows only the base rate.
Key terms
- The base ratio: Copa sits on the 2:1.5 list in Capital One’s transfer partner guide, which says, “2:1.5 ratio: 1,000 Capital One miles convert to 750 miles or points.”
- Minimum and names: the guide requires at least 1,000 Capital One miles per transfer, and the name on your Capital One account has to match your ConnectMiles account.
- Increments: AwardWallet reports transfers move in steps of 100 miles.
- Expiration: ConnectMiles expire after 24 months with no account activity, per AwardWallet. Capital One miles don’t expire while your account stays open.
- The airline: Copa flies to more than 85 destinations in 32 countries from its Panama City hub, according to Star Alliance’s Copa page.
Business class to Panama for 30,800 Capital One miles
ConnectMiles still uses a fixed award chart, so you know the price before you search. AwardWallet’s breakdown of the chart, which we read on November 3, 2026, prices a saver business class seat from Copa’s North America 1 zone to Panama at 30,000 ConnectMiles one way. With the bonus, 30,000 divided by 0.975 is 30,769, and the 100-mile steps push it up to a 30,800-mile transfer. It lands as 30,030 ConnectMiles.
| U.S. to Panama in Copa business (saver) | Without the bonus (2:1.5) | With the 30% bonus |
|---|---|---|
| ConnectMiles needed | 30,000 ConnectMiles | 30,000 ConnectMiles |
| Miles to transfer from Capital One | 40,000 miles (30,000 divided by 0.75) | 30,800 miles (becomes 30,030 ConnectMiles) |
| Taxes | Shown on Copa’s site at booking | Shown on Copa’s site at booking |
The bonus saves you 9,200 Capital One miles on this one seat, about $170 at the 1.85 cents per Capital One mile in our points valuation guide (9,200 times 1.85 cents).
Saver seats are limited, and any open seat on a given date will likely be gone by the time you read this. seats.aero doesn’t search ConnectMiles, but it does search United, which books the same Star Alliance partner seats. A free seats.aero search shows where saver space is open, and our seats.aero guide explains the results. Confirm the ConnectMiles price on Copa’s site before you transfer.

Tip: add a few days in Panama City at no extra cost. Copa’s stopover program lets you spend 24 hours to 15 days in Panama “at no additional airfare” on the way out or back.
More awards priced with the bonus
Each line divides the ConnectMiles price by 0.975 and rounds up to the next 100 Capital One miles. Copa prices come from AwardWallet’s chart breakdown, and the Emirates price is the saver figure Frequent Miler gives for seats it says are hard to find.
| Award, one way | ConnectMiles | Capital One miles without the bonus | Capital One miles with the bonus |
|---|---|---|---|
| U.S. to Panama, economy | 15,000 | 20,000 | 15,400 |
| U.S. to northern South America, business | 35,000 | 46,700 | 35,900 |
| Emirates business, U.S. to Dubai | 80,000 | 106,700 | 82,100 |
Citi and Rove still pay more ConnectMiles
Citi added Copa at 1:1 on October 25 for the Strata Premier and Strata Elite. Rove has paid 1:1 since September, and its 40% launch bonus to Copa ended September 30. Here’s what the same 30,000-mile business seat costs from each:
| Route into ConnectMiles | Ratio | Points for 30,000 ConnectMiles | Value at our rates |
|---|---|---|---|
| During the bonus, from Capital One | 1,000:975 | 30,800 miles | about $570 |
| After December 1, from Capital One | 2:1.5 | 40,000 miles | $740 |
| Citi Strata Premier or Strata Elite | 1:1 | 30,000 ThankYou Points | $570 |
| Citi no-fee cards | 1,000:700 | about 43,000 ThankYou Points | about $817 |
| Rove | 1:1 | 30,000 Rove Miles | not valued |
The dollar column uses 1.85 cents per Capital One mile and 1.9 cents per ThankYou Point from our valuation guide.
Our take
We’d transfer during the bonus only for a saver seat to Panama or South America you’ve already found. At 30,800 Capital One miles, the business seat costs about $570 of miles (30,800 times 1.85 cents), the same as 30,000 Citi points at 1.9 cents. If the cash fare on your date is well above $570, the transfer is worth it.
After December 1, the same seat costs 40,000 miles, or $740 of miles. We wouldn’t plan a Copa trip around Capital One at 2:1.5. Capital One already sends miles at 1:1 to Air Canada Aeroplan and Avianca LifeMiles, which book the same Star Alliance partners. Copa’s edge is narrower: its fixed chart for Latin America and the free Panama stopover.
Act if you hold Capital One miles but no Citi points, and you fly to Latin America. Skip it if you hold a Citi Strata Premier, where 1:1 beats this bonus. Capital One ran the same nearly 1:1 bonus to Japan Airlines in September, and its Virgin Atlantic bonus runs through November 20.
