Why does this partnership matter?
Copa Airlines ConnectMiles has been one of the harder Star Alliance programs to fund from the United States. No major U.S. transferable currency moved into it directly, and the usual workaround was Marriott Bonvoy at 3 points to 1 mile, which is a poor rate in any month. Rove at 1:1 changes the arithmetic, and 1:1.4 through September changes it a lot.
ConnectMiles is also unusual in 2026 because it still publishes a fixed award chart for partner flights. Most programs moved to dynamic pricing years ago. A published chart means you can plan a redemption before you transfer instead of guessing.
Where is the value in ConnectMiles?
Copa Airlines ConnectMiles is strongest for travel between North America and Latin America, which is exactly where other U.S. programs thin out. Copa runs more than 80 destinations through its Tocumen hub in Panama City, reaching Colombia, Brazil, Argentina, Peru, Ecuador, Costa Rica, Mexico and the Caribbean. Should you transfer before September 30?
