A 30% bonus turns 10,000 Capital One miles into 13,000 Virgin Points through November 20, 2026, a 1:1.3 ratio instead of the usual 1:1. The bonus started October 21 and covers both Virgin Atlantic Flying Club and Virgin Red, per Upgraded Points. Our pick for the points is Virgin’s own Upper Class seat from New York to London, which now costs 22,400 Capital One miles instead of 29,000.

Virgin Red is the Virgin Group’s shopping and experiences program, and Flying Club is the airline’s program. Both use the same currency, Virgin Points, so points in either account pay for Virgin Atlantic flights.

The deal

  • Offer: a 30% bonus on transfers from Capital One miles to Virgin Points, so 1,000 Capital One miles become 1,300 Virgin Points.
  • Dates: October 21, 2026 through November 20, 2026, per Frequent Miler.
  • Normal rate: 1:1 once the bonus ends.
  • Who can use it: anyone with a Capital One card earning transferable miles, such as the Venture X or the Venture X Business.
  • Direct link: transfers run from the rewards section of your Capital One account. Capital One lists Virgin Red among its 18 airline partners on its transfer partner page.

Key terms

  • Minimum: the issuer says “you must have at least 1,000 Capital One rewards miles” to move miles to a partner, on its transfer partner page. Above the minimum, transfers go in 100-mile steps, per The Points Guy.
  • No way back: the same page says “there’s no way to transfer miles back into your Capital One rewards account once the transfer is finalized.”
  • Saver prices: Virgin’s Saver reward seats page says “Saver reward seats are our lowest points option, but once they’re gone, you can still book other reward seats using more points.”
  • Variable pricing: Virgin’s reward seats page says points prices change with demand, cabin, route and travel date.
  • Taxes and changes: you pay taxes and carrier charges in cash, and a change costs $100 per person on a points booking starting outside the UK, per the same page.

Upper Class to London for 22,400 Capital One miles

Virgin publishes its lowest Saver prices on its Saver reward seats page, checked by Virgin on October 15, 2026. New York to London in Upper Class, Virgin’s lie-flat business class, starts at 29,000 Virgin Points plus $496.90 one way. With the bonus, you’d transfer 22,400 Capital One miles (29,000 divided by 1.3 is 22,308, rounded up to the next 100). That transfer lands as 29,120 Virgin Points.

New York to London in Upper Class Without the bonus (1:1) With the 30% bonus
Virgin Points needed 29,000 Virgin Points 29,000 Virgin Points
Capital One miles to transfer 29,000 Capital One miles 22,400 Capital One miles
Taxes $496.90 $496.90

The bonus saves you 6,600 Capital One miles, about $122 at the 1.85 cents per mile in our points valuation guide (6,600 times 1.85 cents).

Saver space comes and goes, and Virgin’s prices date from October 15, so the 29,000-point fare will likely be gone on many dates by the time you read this. A search tool such as seats.aero shows Virgin Atlantic award prices across a whole month, and our seats.aero guide explains how to read them. Check your dates there and on Virgin’s reward seat checker before you move any miles.

Economy works the same way. The 6,000-point Saver seat from New York to London takes 4,700 Capital One miles with the bonus, plus $93.10 in taxes. From Los Angeles, Upper Class starts at 41,000 Virgin Points plus $375.30, or 31,600 Capital One miles with the bonus (41,000 divided by 1.3 is 31,539, rounded up).

Tip: the taxes on Upper Class run close to $500 one way from New York. Price the whole trip, cash included, before you decide the points are the better deal.

Partner flights with the same points

Virgin Points also book seats on Delta, Air France, KLM, ANA and more than 20 other airlines listed on Virgin’s airline partners page. Some of those bookings need a phone call or a message to Virgin, and each partner prices differently. The New York to London Saver fare above is the cleanest case because Virgin publishes it.

Our take

We’d transfer for a specific Upper Class or Premium Saver seat you’ve already found, and not before. The bonus values each Capital One mile at 1.3 Virgin Points. At the 29,000-point Upper Class price, 22,400 Capital One miles plus $496.90 get you a lie-flat seat to London. At 1.85 cents a mile, those miles are worth about $414 elsewhere, so the seat makes sense when the cash fare runs well into four figures.

Act if you hold Capital One miles and want to fly Virgin to London this winter or spring. Skip it if you don’t have a trip in mind. Virgin Points don’t expire, per Frequent Miler, but miles left in Capital One keep 18 airline options open. It’s the same bonus size Capital One gave Japan Airlines in September, and a better deal than Amex’s current Marriott bonus for most travelers.
