Marriott Bonvoy’s fall 2026 promotion pays 1,500 bonus points on each paid stay of two or more nights, plus 3,000 more when the stay is at a participating resort. Stays count from September 22 through November 22, 2026, and registration closes November 13.
Marriott’s spring promotion paid 2,500 points a stay with no minimum length. This one pays 40% less and drops one-night stays entirely. At 0.6 cents a point, a normal two-night stay earns a $9 rebate.
The resort bonus is the only part with a real return, and only at resorts priced under about $200 a night. Two nights at a $140 resort earn 4,500 promotion points on top of 2,800 base points, so the promotion more than doubles what the stay pays. At a $600 resort the same 4,500 points are a 2% rebate.
The short version
- 1,500 bonus points per paid stay of two or more nights. One-night stays earn nothing.
- 3,000 extra points at participating resorts, for 4,500 total.
- Stays from September 22 to November 22, 2026. Register by November 13, before your first stay.
- Down from 2,500 points a stay this spring and 2,025 points a stay last fall.
- Award stays, Cash + Points and Free Night Award stays are excluded.
- Hilton pays 2,500 points per stay through December 31 with a promotion of its own.
How does this compare with Marriott’s last two promotions?
The Marriott Bonvoy fall 2026 promotion is the weakest base offer of the last three. Marriott ran two global promotions before this one, and both paid more per stay with fewer conditions.
Spring 2026, February 25 to May 10: 2,500 bonus points on every paid stay, no minimum nights, plus one elite night credit for each different brand you stayed at.
Fall 2025, October 28 to January 10: 2,025 bonus points a stay, capped at three stays, plus 2,000 more on each Marriott Bonvoy Outdoors stay.
Fall 2026, September 22 to November 22: 1,500 bonus points a stay, two-night minimum, no cap, plus 3,000 at resorts.
The cap is gone, which helps road warriors with ten two-night stays in the window. Everyone else lost 1,000 points a stay and the ability to earn on a single night. Traveling for Miles summed it up as “a promotion for the sake of a promotion,” and the numbers agree.
Where is the resort bonus worth booking around?
The Marriott Bonvoy resort bonus pays a flat 3,000 points per stay regardless of what the room costs, so its value as a rebate falls as the nightly rate rises. The math favors cheap resorts and ignores expensive ones.
Three two-night stays, all at participating resorts, all earning the full 4,500 promotion points:
- $140 a night, $280 total: 4,500 points is a 9.6% rebate. Base earning at 10 points per dollar is 2,800, so the promotion pays more than the stay does.
- $350 a night, $700 total: a 3.9% rebate, on top of 7,000 base points.
- $700 a night, $1,400 total: a 1.9% rebate. The base 14,000 points matter, the promotion does not.
Marriott decides resort status property by property, and the list is not limited to luxury brands. Check the participating resort list on the promotion page before you book. If a Courtyard or Residence Inn with resort designation is on it at $150 a night, that is where this promotion pays. A Ritz-Carlton at $900 a night earns the same 4,500 points and you will not notice them.
Two more limits. Homes & Villas by Marriott Bonvoy stays earn the 1,500 points but never the resort 3,000, as our post on the Homes & Villas bonus points offer covers in more detail. And the resort 3,000 posts up to eight weeks after November 22, so plan on seeing it in January rather than with the stay.
Does it stack with Marriott’s other bonus offers?
The Marriott Bonvoy fall promotion terms exclude award rates and most third-party rates. They say nothing about Marriott’s own promotional rate codes, which book as points-eligible rates on marriott.com.
AwardWallet lists two of those running through June 30, 2027. Promotional code B9248 pays 5,000 bonus points a night on stays of three or more nights at 113 participating resorts in the U.S., Canada and Bora Bora. Code 53M pays 2,000 bonus points a stay at participating AC Hotels, Courtyard, Fairfield, Four Points and Postcard Cabins properties. Both are limited to a set number of rooms.
A three-night resort stay booked on B9248 would earn 15,000 from the rate code and 4,500 from the global promotion if both apply. Confirm the rate shows as points-eligible on the booking screen, since Marriott does not publish a stacking rule either way.
Card earning stacks without question. The Marriott Bonvoy cards from Amex and Chase earn 6 points per dollar at Marriott properties on top of everything above. Our best travel credit cards guide covers whether a hotel card belongs in your wallet at all.
Which hotel promotion pays more this fall?
The Marriott Bonvoy fall promotion is the lowest-paying open hotel promotion of the season for a standard two-night stay. Every other major chain pays more, with fewer strings.
- Hilton Honors: 2,500 bonus points for each stay from September 3 through December 31, 2026, registration required. At 0.5 cents a point that is $12.50 a stay against Marriott’s $9, and Hilton’s runs five weeks longer.
- Accor ALL: double base points on stays of two or more nights from September 7 through December 27, 2026. Registration closed September 13.
- World of Hyatt: double points at Thompson Hotels from September 8 through November 10, 2026, booked in the app, capped at 30,000 bonus points.
- IHG One Rewards: a targeted 20,000 bonus points after two paid nights within 60 days of registering. Worth about $120 and the best offer on this list if it is in your account.
On a two-night city stay, Hilton pays 2,500 and Marriott 1,500. On a cheap two-night resort stay, Marriott’s 4,500 beats every offer above. Everywhere in between, none of these promotions should decide where you sleep.

Which rules decide whether your stay counts?
Marriott’s promotion terms define a stay as “one or more consecutive nights under the same reservation spent at the same property.” Four nights at one hotel on one reservation is one stay and earns 1,500 points once. Four one-night stays at four hotels earn nothing.
The other rules from the terms:
- Register before the stay. Only stays completed after registration earn the bonus.
- Your earning preference must be set to Bonvoy points, not airline miles.
- Only one room per property per stay counts, so booking three rooms for a family earns one bonus.
- A stay that starts before September 22 or ends after November 22 qualifies if at least one night falls inside the window.
- Excluded brands: BVLGARI, The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection, Marriott Executive Apartments, and owner-occupied weeks at the vacation clubs.
- The 1,500 points post within 10 business days of checkout. The resort 3,000 posts up to eight weeks after November 22.
Registration takes under a minute in the Promotions tab of your Bonvoy account. If the link shows you as ineligible, the usual fix is switching your earning preference from miles to points and trying again in the app.
The Bottom Line
Register, since it costs nothing and any two-night Marriott stay you already have booked earns 1,500 points.
Do not move a stay to Marriott for this. Hilton pays more per stay this fall, and a targeted IHG offer pays ten times more.
The one booking worth making on purpose is two nights at a participating resort priced under $200 a night. There the 4,500 points outearn the stay itself. Above that price the bonus disappears into the bill.
FAQ
How much is the Marriott fall 2026 promotion worth?
The Marriott Bonvoy fall 2026 promotion is worth about $9 per two-night stay at 0.6 cents a point, or about $27 per two-night stay at a participating resort. As a rebate, the resort bonus is worth 9.6% on a $280 stay and 1.9% on a $1,400 stay.
Do one-night stays earn anything?
No. The Marriott Bonvoy fall promotion requires two or more consecutive nights under the same reservation at the same property. Marriott’s spring 2026 promotion had no minimum, so this is a new restriction.
Is the Marriott fall promotion better than Hilton’s?
No for most stays. Hilton Honors pays 2,500 bonus points for each stay from September 3 through December 31, 2026, worth about $12.50, while Marriott pays 1,500 points worth about $9 and only on two-night stays. Marriott wins only on a two-night stay at a participating resort, where it pays 4,500 points.
Which properties count as resorts?
Marriott Bonvoy sets resort status at the property level for this promotion, not by brand. A Westin resort qualifies and a Westin downtown does not. The participating list is on the promotion page, and it includes some select-service and vacation club properties along with the luxury brands.
Can I earn the bonus on an award stay?
No. Award Redemption Stays are excluded, and Marriott’s terms name Cash + Points, Free Night Awards and straight points redemptions. Only paid stays on a points-eligible rate booked through Marriott channels count.
When do the points post?
The 1,500 base points post within 10 business days of checkout, alongside the stay. The 3,000 resort points post up to eight weeks after the promotion ends on November 22, 2026, so expect them in January 2027.
