Amex Membership Rewards is giving a 30% bonus on transfers to Virgin Atlantic Flying Club through November 30, 2026, so 1,000 Amex points become 1,300 Virgin Points. The bonus started November 2, per One Mile at a Time. Our pick for the points is ANA business class from the West Coast to Tokyo, which drops from 53,000 Amex points to 41,000.

The deal

  • Offer: a 30% bonus on transfers from Membership Rewards to Virgin Atlantic Flying Club, 1:1.3 instead of 1:1.
  • Dates: November 2, 2026 at 12:00 a.m. ET through November 30, 2026 at 11:59 p.m. ET, per Danny the Deal Guru.
  • Normal rate: 1:1 once the bonus ends.
  • Who it’s for: anyone holding a Membership Rewards card, such as the Amex Platinum or Amex Gold. We haven’t seen Amex say whether the offer is targeted, so look for the bonus on the Virgin Atlantic tile before you plan around it.
  • Direct link: the Virgin Atlantic tile on Amex’s transfer partner page, behind your login.

Key terms

  • No undo: Amex’s Membership Rewards terms say, “Once you transfer points, the transfer cannot be reversed and the partner loyalty program’s terms and conditions apply.”
  • Increments: the same terms set a minimum of 1,000 points per transfer, in multiples of 1,000 points.
  • No excise fee: Amex charges $0.0006 per point, up to $99, only on transfers to U.S. airline programs. Virgin Atlantic is a British airline, so this transfer carries no fee.
  • Timing: Amex’s terms say transfers typically take 48 hours, though One Mile at a Time reports Virgin transfers usually post instantly.
  • Partner prices: Virgin’s ANA partner page lists its chart prices “for a one-way ticket excluding passenger taxes, duties, fee, charges and surcharges.”
  • Phone booking: the same page tells members to contact the Flying Club team to book ANA flights. You won’t find them in Virgin’s online search.

ANA business class to Tokyo for 41,000 Amex points

Virgin’s ANA chart, which we checked on November 2, 2026, prices business class between Tokyo and the Western USA at 52,500 Virgin Points one way. ANA flies that cabin from cities such as Los Angeles, San Francisco and Seattle. With the bonus, 52,500 divided by 1.3 is 40,385, and Amex’s 1,000-point steps round that up to a 41,000-point transfer. It lands as 53,300 Virgin Points.

West Coast to Tokyo in ANA business Without the bonus (1:1) With the 30% bonus
Virgin Points needed 52,500 Virgin Points 52,500 Virgin Points
Amex points to transfer 53,000 Amex points 41,000 Amex points (becomes 53,300 Virgin Points)
Taxes Quoted by Virgin on the phone Quoted by Virgin on the phone

The bonus saves you 12,000 Amex points on this one seat, about $240 at the 2 cents per Amex point in our points valuation guide (12,000 times 2 cents).

Virgin’s chart price stays put, but ANA releases few partner seats. Any open seat on a given date will likely be gone by the time you read this. ANA seats appear in the United and Aeroplan results on seats.aero PRO, whose alerts watch a full year of dates for you. Our seats.aero guide explains how to read the results.

Tip: call Virgin’s Flying Club team before you transfer. Ask the agent to confirm the ANA seat and quote the taxes, then move your Amex points.

More awards priced with the bonus

Each line below divides the Virgin price by 1.3 and rounds up to the next 1,000 Amex points. ANA prices come from Virgin’s chart on November 2. Upper Class prices come from Virgin’s Saver reward seats page, dated October 15, 2026, and Delta One prices from Virgin’s Delta partner page.

Award, one way Virgin price Amex points with the bonus
ANA business, Central or Eastern USA to Tokyo 60,000 Virgin Points 47,000 Amex points
ANA first, Western USA to Tokyo 72,500 Virgin Points 56,000 Amex points
ANA first, Central or Eastern USA to Tokyo 85,000 Virgin Points 66,000 Amex points
Virgin Upper Class, New York to London (Saver) 29,000 Virgin Points plus $496.90 23,000 Amex points
Delta One, UK to East Coast USA (off-peak) 47,500 Virgin Points plus $1,027.80 37,000 Amex points

The two transatlantic awards carry hundreds of dollars in cash charges, which is why we’d send Amex points to ANA before either one. Capital One is running the same 30% bonus to Virgin until November 20, and our Capital One to Virgin post works through the Upper Class math.

Our take

We’d transfer for an ANA business or first class seat you’ve already found, and for nothing else. The 41,000 Amex points for West Coast business are worth about $820 at 2 cents each (41,000 times 2 cents). If the cash fare for your flight tops $820 plus the taxes Virgin quotes, the transfer beats our valuation.

First class costs little more. ANA first from the West Coast takes 56,000 Amex points, about $1,120 at our valuation and only 15,000 Amex points more than business. If you see first class space, we’d take it.

Skip the bonus if you don’t have a seat in mind, or if your goal is Upper Class to London. There, the $496.90 in taxes is about four times the $120 the bonus saves (6,000 Amex points at 2 cents). Virgin Points don’t expire, per Danny the Deal Guru, but points left in Amex keep every transfer partner open. Amex’s other current bonus, 35% to Marriott, is a weaker use for most travelers. One Mile at a Time says Amex runs a Virgin bonus once or twice a year, and the last one came over the summer. If you’re new to these offers, our transfer bonus guide explains how to judge one before you move points.
