What did Costco and DoorDash launch?
Costco and DoorDash opened nationwide same-day delivery on September 17, 2026, covering groceries, household goods, electronics and Kirkland Signature products from local Costco warehouses. DoorDash says shoppers "can link an active Costco membership and complete their order" inside the app. The catalog is warehouse inventory rather than a curated subset, so bulk sizes show up the way they do in the aisle.
Costco ran a limited DoorDash pilot before this. The September launch is the full U.S. rollout, and it landed alongside a parallel Uber Eats launch covering 47 states.
Is the 20% off code worth using?
The DoorDash code COSTCO26 pays 20% off a Costco order with a $50 ceiling, which means the discount maxes out at a $250 basket. Doctor of Credit reported on September 24, 2026 that an earlier version of the code, COSTCO20, stopped working for most people. Try COSTCO26 at checkout and read the order total before you confirm, since a dead code fails quietly.
A $250 Costco order for $200 is a good trade on items you were buying anyway. It is a bad trade on items you added to reach $250. That distinction is where most grocery promo codes stop paying.
Which card credits work on a Costco DoorDash order?
No card on the market right now carries more DoorDash money than the Chase Sapphire Reserve. From October 1, 2026 the card's monthly DoorDash credit rises from $5 to $15 and loses its restaurant-only rule, which is what makes groceries eligible. Add the two $10 monthly non-restaurant credits and a Sapphire Reserve holder has $35 a month, or $420 a year, pointed at DoorDash. Does ordering Costco beat driving there?
A Costco DoorDash order costs more per item than walking the warehouse. Delivery platforms mark up grocery prices, and DoorDash adds service fees on top. The 20% code covers a lot of that gap on one order. Your monthly card credits cover a slice of it every month after the code dies on November 1.
The case for delivery is time and the case against it is markup. If a Costco run costs you 90 minutes round trip, $35 a month in credits against a marked-up basket is a reasonable trade. If the warehouse is six minutes away, it is not.
