The Capital One Venture Now Pays 75,000 Miles Plus $300 in Hotel Credit

Capital One improved the Venture Rewards welcome offer on September 8, 2026. You now earn 75,000 bonus miles after $4,000 of spending in the first three months, plus a $300 credit for hotels and vacation rentals booked through Capital One Travel. The annual fee stays at $95, which makes this one of the strongest offers on a mid-tier travel card right now.
The short version
75,000 bonus miles after $4,000 of purchases in the first 3 months.
A $300 Capital One Travel credit, good only on hotels and vacation rentals. It expires one year after account opening and does not renew.
The annual fee is $95. The card earns 2x miles on everything and 5x on hotels, vacation rentals and rental cars booked through Capital One Travel.
The previous version of this offer, from January 2026, paired the same 75,000 miles with a $250 credit that worked on any travel. The new credit is $50 larger and narrower.
At 1 cent per mile toward travel, the bonus alone is worth $750. Capital One miles also transfer to airline and hotel partners.
What is in the new Capital One Venture offer?
The Capital One Venture Rewards Credit Card is offering 75,000 bonus miles after $4,000 of purchases within three months of account opening, plus $300 to spend on hotel and vacation rental bookings through Capital One Travel during your first cardholder year. Capital One states the credit applies "on hotel and vacation rental bookings through Capital One Travel in your first cardholder year." Flights and rental cars do not qualify. The annual fee is $95.
The 75,000 miles are not new. Capital One has run that number for a while.
What changed is the credit. Frequent Miler spotted the improvement a day after it landed. Adding $300 on a $95 card is a large move, and it puts the Venture in territory that used to belong to cards charging three times as much.
Is the $300 credit as good as it sounds?
The Capital One Venture Rewards $300 credit is narrower than the $300 travel credit on the Venture X. The Venture X credit covers anything booked through Capital One Travel, including flights and rental cars. The Venture Rewards version covers stays only. It also runs once, in your first cardholder year, rather than resetting annually.
There is a second wrinkle worth knowing before you book.
Hotels treat a Capital One Travel booking as an online travel agency reservation. You earn no hotel points on that stay, you get no elite benefits, and it does not count toward elite night credit. If you are chasing Hyatt Globalist or Marriott Titanium, burning this credit at a chain property costs you progress. Spend it at an independent hotel or a vacation rental where none of that applies and the trade disappears.
Venture Rewards cardholders do get Capital One Travel's Lifestyle Collection, which adds a $50 experience credit, room upgrades when available, and early check-in or late checkout when available.
How much is 75,000 Capital One miles worth?
Capital One miles are worth exactly 1 cent each when you redeem them to offset a travel purchase, so 75,000 miles is a floor of $750. Stack the $300 stays credit on top and the first-year haul is $1,050 against a $95 fee. That is the conservative math, and it holds even if you never learn a single transfer partner.
Transfers are where the number moves.
Capital One miles transfer to airline programs including Air Canada Aeroplan, Air France-KLM Flying Blue, British Airways Avios and Turkish Miles and Smiles, usually at 1:1. A well-chosen transfer redemption regularly beats 1 cent per mile, sometimes by a lot. Our guide to what points and miles are worth in 2026 walks through how to judge that without guessing.
Who should get this card?
The Capital One Venture Rewards Credit Card earns 2 miles per dollar on every purchase with no categories to track, which makes it a good fit for people who do not want to think about their wallet. It also carries no foreign transaction fees, so it works overseas. For a beginner who wants one card that covers everything and produces transferable points, this is close to an ideal first travel card.
Skip it if you already carry a 2% cash back card and never intend to transfer miles. In that case you are paying $95 for the welcome offer and little else after year one.
Also check your Capital One application history. Capital One is stricter than most issuers about how many of its cards you hold and how recently you applied. Doctor of Credit tracks the approval data points.
What this means for you
If you were going to open a mid-tier travel card this year, this is a good week to do it. A $1,050 first-year package on a $95 card does not sit around forever, and Capital One labeled this a limited-time offer without publishing an end date.
Plan the $300 credit before you apply. Point it at an independent hotel or a vacation rental so you are not trading away elite credit to use it. Compare it against the rest of the field in our best travel credit cards guide before you pull the trigger.
