All Three Avios Cards Jumped to 90,000 Points. The Catch Is Finding the Right Link.

Chase raised the welcome offer on all three of its Avios credit cards to 90,000 Avios on September 3, 2026. You earn it after $5,000 of spend in the first three months. Each card charges a $95 annual fee, and the offer sits 15,000 Avios above the standard public offer of 75,000.
The short version
90,000 Avios after $5,000 of spend in 3 months, on the British Airways, Iberia and Aer Lingus cards.
15,000 Avios more than the 75,000 public offer.
$95 annual fee on each card, with no foreign transaction fees.
The offer lives on separate landing pages, not the main Chase card pages.
A 100,000 Avios offer exists via the airlines' own sites, at $7,500 of spend over 6 months.
What is Avios, in plain language?
Avios is the shared points currency of British Airways, Iberia, Aer Lingus, Finnair, Qatar Airways and Vueling. One balance, six airlines. You move Avios between those programs for free, so points earned on the Chase British Airways Visa Signature card are usable for an Iberia flight, and vice versa. This matters more than it sounds, because the six programs price the same flight differently.
Avios expire after 36 months with no earning or spending activity. Any transfer or purchase resets the clock, so the expiration rule is easy to manage.
Which of the three cards should you pick?
The Chase British Airways Visa Signature card is the one to take if you only take one. It charges the same $95 as the others and adds up to $600 a year in award fee statement credits, which offset the surcharges British Airways is famous for. Chase describes the benefit as statement credits of "$100 for Economy and Premium Economy" or $200 for business and first, three times a year.
The Chase Iberia Visa Signature card charges $95 and earns a $1,000 discount voucher toward two tickets after $30,000 of purchases in a calendar year. The Chase Aer Lingus Visa Signature card charges $95 and earns an economy companion ticket at the same $30,000 threshold, plus priority boarding on Aer Lingus flights between the U.S. and Ireland.
All three earn identically: 3 Avios per dollar on British Airways, Iberia, Aer Lingus and LEVEL, 2 per dollar on hotels booked directly, and 1 everywhere else. Those categories are thin. Nobody should carry one of these for everyday spending.
Is 90,000 Avios worth $95 and $5,000 of spend?
Run the arithmetic. Spending $5,000 at 1 Avios per dollar gets you 5,000 Avios on top of the bonus, so you finish with 95,000 Avios for a $95 fee. That is roughly 19 Avios per dollar spent, which is among the strongest first-year returns on any Chase consumer card right now.
What those Avios buy is the better question. Iberia business class from New York, Boston, Chicago or Washington to Madrid runs as low as 40,500 Avios one-way in off-peak season, with modest surcharges. Qatar Airways business class between the U.S. and Doha prices from 70,000 Avios. Both are real, bookable redemptions, not theoretical ceilings. At 40,500 each way, 95,000 Avios covers a round trip in business class to Madrid with points left over.
The trap is British Airways' own metal. Fly BA transatlantic on an award and the fuel surcharges get ugly, sometimes several hundred dollars each way. Avios earn their reputation on partners. Where do you find the 90,000 offer?
These increased Avios offers sit on targeted promotional landing pages rather than the standard Chase product pages. Going to the card through Chase's main site is likely to show you 75,000 instead. Frequent Miler flagged this on September 3, and it is the single most common way people leave 15,000 Avios behind.
There is a wrinkle worth knowing. Going to the card page through British Airways, Iberia or Aer Lingus directly has surfaced a 100,000 Avios offer at $7,500 of spend over six months. More points, more spend. If $7,500 in half a year fits your normal budget, the 100,000 version is the better deal. If it does not, 90,000 at $5,000 is the safer target, because an unmet spending requirement pays nothing.
Will Chase even approve you?
All three Avios cards fall under Chase's 5/24 rule. Open five or more personal credit cards from any issuer in the past 24 months and Chase declines these applications regardless of your score. Business cards from most issuers do not count toward the total. Check your count before applying, since a denial still costs you a hard inquiry.
What this means for you
If you have a Europe trip in mind and you sit under 5/24, this is a strong first-year card. Take the British Airways version for the award fee credits, put $5,000 through it, then decide next September whether the $95 keeps earning its place. If you have no European travel planned, Avios are a poor fit and your $5,000 of spend belongs somewhere more flexible. Our best travel credit cards guide has those alternatives.
FAQ
How much is the annual fee on the Avios cards?
The Chase British Airways, Iberia and Aer Lingus Visa Signature cards each charge a $95 annual fee. None of the three charges foreign transaction fees.
How long do you have to earn the 90,000 Avios?
The 90,000 Avios welcome offer requires $5,000 of purchases within the first three months of account opening on the British Airways, Iberia or Aer Lingus card.
Are Avios transferable between the airlines?
Yes. Avios move freely between British Airways, Iberia, Aer Lingus, Finnair, Qatar Airways and Vueling at a 1:1 rate, so the card brand you choose does not lock your points anywhere.
What is the Travel Together Ticket?
The Chase British Airways Visa Signature card issues a Travel Together Ticket after $30,000 of purchases in a calendar year. Chase says the voucher is "valid for two years when you redeem Avios for a flight on British Airways for a companion."
Does the 5/24 rule apply?
Yes. All three Avios cards are subject to Chase's 5/24 rule, so five or more new personal cards across any issuer in 24 months will result in a denial.
Can you hold more than one Avios card?
Yes. British Airways, Iberia and Aer Lingus are separate Chase products, so holding all three and earning three welcome offers is possible, subject to 5/24 and Chase's approval limits.
