Priority Pass Is Adding 170 Fast-Track Security Lanes. Most Will Cost Extra.
Priority Pass announced a multi-year expansion on September 24, 2026. It covers a new app called Priority Pass+, more than 170 bookable fast-track security lanes and extra lounge capacity. The app is the part you get soon. The rest rolls out over five years, and a lot of it carries its own fee.

What is the Priority Pass+ app, and do you need it?
Priority Pass+ is a new app, separate from the existing Priority Pass app. It lets you activate or import several Priority Pass memberships and run them from one account. If you hold a Chase Sapphire Reserve and an Amex Platinum, you have two memberships with different guest rules and visit limits. Until now you had to log out of one account and into the other at the lounge door.
The memberships stay separate inside Priority Pass+. You still pick the right one before you scan. What goes away is the logging in and out.
The app also adds digital membership cards, biometric sign-in, saved payment cards and a running count of the visits you have left. Priority Pass is rolling it out in phases based on your location, card issuer and membership, so keep the old app until Priority Pass confirms you are eligible.
Will the new fast-track security lanes be free?
Bookable fast-track security exists at 28 Priority Pass airports today. The expansion adds more than 170 lanes across more than 150 terminals in more than 130 airports inside a year. Fast-track is useful outside the United States, where your TSA PreCheck does nothing for you.
The pricing is the catch. Fees vary by airport, and you cannot trade a lounge visit for a fast-track booking. Your card's Priority Pass membership does not cover the cost. Treat it as a paid add-on inside an app you already have, not a new benefit.
Is the Priority Pass lounge network growing?
The network grew 6.7% in the past year, to more than 1,900 lounges and experiences. Part of Collinson's investment goes to Airport Dimensions, which runs The Club and Club Aspire. More seats would help with the overcrowding that gets members turned away at busy times.

Recent moves point the other way. Showers became a paid extra at select The Club and Virgin Atlantic Clubhouse locations. The newly opened Plaza Premium Lounge at Dallas Fort Worth has already left the network. Chase Sapphire Lounges stopped accepting Priority Pass on August 15, 2026.

Download Priority Pass+ when your issuer makes it available. That is the one piece of this with a clear payoff, and it costs you nothing.
Do not change which credit card you carry over this announcement. A five-year investment programme is a plan, not a benefit.
